Scan New Eva LUN’s and Add Present To OS

After LUN’s are presented to the Linux server, you must rescan the Fibre Fabric so that the disks can be seen by Linux.

The disk then has to be formated and mounted.

Configuration Details

OS : cat /etc/*-release Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS release 4 (Nahant Update 7)

SAN : HP EVA4400

Server : HP BL480c with QLogic Fibre Cards

Scan The Fabric

As root

./opt/hp/hp_fibreutils/hp_rescan

./opt/hp/hp_fibreutils/sysfs_scandisk

This operation can vary depending on the ammount of LUN’s presented.  If possible do this out of hours or in quiet preiods.
