Installing linux-headers

These are needed when the kernel needs recompiling

You need to know the kernel version

uname -r

Displays the version

To get the headers

apt-get install linux-headers-XXXXXXX

where XXXXXX is the kernel version

You can also use this command

apt-get install linux-headers-`uname -r`

You may need to creat a link such as /usr/src/linux

ln -s /usr/src/linux-headers-XXXXXX /usr/src/linux

ln -s /usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.28-11 /usr/src/linux
